Support
I've been watching the fake reality show Shahs of Sunset on Bravo. One thing that's not fake is the support they showed MJ when she lost her father. The day of his passing, they threw her a gathering at Mike's house with the most beautiful floral arrangements I've ever seen, they loved on her, they reassured her that they would be with her every step of the way, they hugged and kissed her -- showered her with such loving affection and words of encouragement.
The day of her bridal dress fitting, she had a breakdown about her father in the dressing room. Mike and Reza went in the room with her, and gave her such genuine, heartfelt words of encouragement and Reza presented her with her wedding gift. They again, showered her with hugs and kisses and genuine concern and empathy. The support they showed her was overwhelming. I've never known what that feels like. It made me look at those scenes of her life, and think "wow, she can handle anything life throws at her because she has a team of people who are there for her every step of the way." It brought tears to my eyes. I don't know why I never had that support but I can tell you it makes life harder, sometimes unbearable, when there's no support. You learn to deal with things on your own, sometimes in a healthy way, most times not. I wonder if she knows how blessed she is to have people to lean on when she's weak?
