Paris, Texas
This was such an interesting film. It was shot in the 80s, so you get this feeling of nostalgia. It was gritty, raw, unpolished, yet something about it seemed very surreal. The main character was a mystery. He had disappeared for 4 years, and was found in the desert. His brother took him home, where he was able to get reacquainted with his son, but something 'out there' was pulling him away and before he left {again}, he had to get things right with his son, and with the son's mother. Throughout the film, he would reference Paris, TX and how he always wanted to go because of an old joke his father used to say. The film ends and leaves you wondering if he ever reached his destination.
I guess in the end, we all do.
